Major Events of 2024

At Animal World & Snake Farm Zoo this year, we hosted unforgettable events that brought guests closer to wildlife and created lasting memories for families and animal lovers.

January: The year started with a historic moment—the hatching of our first-ever baby Cayo Santa Maria Knight Anole. This little reptile marked an exciting milestone for our zoo and conservation efforts.

February: Love was in the air during our first Capy Valentine’s Day Celebration! Guests snapped photos at the kissing booth, met Simon the Burmese python, and shared heartfelt notes to their favorite animals.

March: Spring arrived with our Easter Eggstravaganza, where families created Easter-themed enrichment for the animals, took photos with Cowboy Jarrod and the “Easter Bunny,” and hunted for golden eggs to win exciting prizes.

April: On April 8th, we hosted a once-in-a-lifetime event: The Totally Wild Eclipse. Guests observed the solar eclipse alongside our fantastic animal ambassadors. They used ethograms (animal behavior charts) to record how the eclipse affected wildlife. The animals were especially active, adding an extra layer of excitement to the experience.

Summer Highlights: We made the summer unforgettable with interactive shows every 30 minutes, exclusive croc shows on Sundays, and the highly anticipated reopening of our iconic rattlesnake pit. July also saw the arrival of baby squirrel monkeys!

Fall Festivities: This year’s Howl-O-Ween was our most successful yet! Kids collected candy at trick-or-treat stations, enjoyed Halloween-themed shows and enrichment, braved our creepy-crawly station, and participated in complimentary face painting!

Winter Wonders: We’re wrapping up the year with Christmas with the Critters, where guests can sip hot cocoa, enjoy s’mores by the fire, and watch holiday-themed animal shows and enrichment. It is the perfect way to celebrate the season with family and friends. Christmas With The Critters goes from December 20th – January 6th.

Baby Animal Arrivals and Naming Contests

One of the most exciting parts of 2024 at Animal World & Snake Farm Zoo was welcoming so many adorable baby animals. Even better, we invited all of YOU to help name them through our interactive naming contests! Here’s a look at all the new arrivals and the names you helped choose:

May: We started the year off strong with several exciting additions. Guests named Bill the baby camel, Nyla and Harley the grey wolves, and Xena and Zala, two stunning white lion cubs.

June: Our capybara family grew with the arrival of two adorable siblings, Honey and Bee. That same month, we welcomed three playful skunks—Tex, Theo, and Trixie.

August: Sugar and Spice, a pair of energetic fennec fox kits, joined the zoo and quickly captured everyone’s hearts.

September: Guests named Nickel, an adorable baby bison, who became a crowd favorite during their visit.

October: Just in time for our Howl-O-Ween event, we welcomed a pair of baby capybaras born on Halloween. Thanks to your creative suggestions, these little ones were named Pebbles and Peanut.

Each new arrival brought fresh energy and joy to the zoo, and we loved sharing their stories with all of you. Your participation in our naming contests helped make these moments even more special!

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Guests
