A Summer Filled With Exciting Highlights and Memorable Moments
As summer ends and the back-to-school season approaches, we at Animal World and Snake Farm Zoo are excited to reflect on the incredible moments and milestones we’ve experienced over the past few months. This summer has been filled with excitement and joy, from the birth of adorable new animals to thrilling events and significant renovations. Join us as we look back at the highlights that made this season unforgettable.
New Arrivals and Births: Celebrating Our New Zooborns!
This summer brought some delightful additions to our Animal World & Snake Farm Zoo family. The birth of two adorable capybara babies, Honey and Bee, was one of the season’s most exciting events. Our visitors eagerly participated in a naming contest, and the winning names have been a perfect fit for these charming little ones.
In addition to our capybara babies, we were thrilled to welcome three baby skunks into our zoo family. Named Tex, Theo, and Trixie, through another fun naming contest, these playful skunks have quickly become favorites among our guests.
We also celebrated the arrival of some new baby squirrel monkeys. While we didn’t hold a naming contest for these energetic little ones, they have nonetheless brought endless joy and fascination to everyone who visits them. Stay tuned for some future naming contest opportunities!
Special Summer Events: Engaging Activities and Celebrations
One of the standout events this summer was our exclusive Summer Sunday Live Feeding Croc Show, hosted by our director, Jarrod. This thrilling interactive experience allowed some lucky kids to join the “Croc Squad,” cheering on Jarrod from a safe distance as he showcased his expertise with our incredible alligators. It was an unforgettable adventure for our young visitors and their families.
We celebrated National Zookeeper Week in July, shining a well-deserved spotlight on our amazing zookeepers. Their dedication, hard work, and passion for animal care are the heart of our zoo, and we were thrilled to honor them during this special week.
On July 16th, we marked World Snake Day with engaging activities and educational content all about snakes. It was a fantastic opportunity for visitors to learn more about these fascinating creatures and their essential role in our ecosystem.
The 4th of July at the zoo was a blast as well! We celebrated Independence Day with special animal enrichment activities, making the day extra special for both our animals and visitors. The festive and patriotic atmosphere added to the joy and excitement of the day.
On August 3rd, we celebrated National Watermelon Day by giving our animals some tasty watermelons for enrichment!

Facility Enhancements: Rattlesnake Pit Renovation
This summer, we took significant steps to enhance our facilities, ensuring the best possible environment for our animals and an improved experience for our visitors. One of the major projects was renovating our historic rattlesnake pit, famously featured on Dirty Jobs.
The modernization of the rattlesnake pit included creating a new bioactive and safe habitat for our rattlesnakes. These improvements ensure our reptiles’ well-being and provide a more engaging and educational viewing experience for our guests. The renovation has been met with enthusiastic approval from our staff and visitors, showcasing our ongoing commitment to animal care and safety.
